Measuring principle and tips

The key difference of the FarmPro grain moisture meter is a pair of millstones. These are two round planes with ribbed notches applied. One on the lid, the other on the bottom of the grinding chamber.

Firstly, the lid acts as a dispenser, preventing you from pouring more into the than is needed for the test, and secondly, due to the spring, it compresses the sample poured into the container and crushes it to a mush state. This facilitates the passage of electric current and gives an additional 0.25% accuracy.


The current parameters are proportional to the humidity. The device converts the indicator into a moisture value according to the built-in calibration table and displays it on the display.

Farmpro is programmed for 16 popular grain varieties. These calibrations are selected on command, depending on the type of grain being tested for moisture.

If you have not worked with Farmpro before, keep in mind that due to a pair of fairly heavy grinders, the center of gravity of the moisture meter is shifted towards the grinding chamber.

✓ Tip 1 - do not hold the device by the edge, but closer to the middle. This will ensure balance, protect it from falling and will not strain your hand.

✓ Tip 2 - fill the chamber completely, turn the lid until you feel resistance. This will ensure a sufficient level of grinding and a minimum passport error.

Measuring algorithm

1. Carefully clean the container with a brush from the remains of previous tests. Pay attention to this simple procedure, especially if you have previously tested grain from another crop. Turn on by pressing the ON/TEST button, the word "Pharmpro" will appear, and it will test the battery charge. Use the arrows to select calibration.
2. Prepare the sample. Make sure that no debris, straw, small stones, soil particles, or dirt get into the sample being tested. The amount is measured with a measuring cup. Pour into the crusher.
3. Tighten the lid. The force due to the springs will gradually increase and the compressed sample will end up between the two crushers. Start the testing process by pressing the ON/TEST button.
4. The display will show:
   • the current moisture percentage;
   • the average result of several measurements;
   • the name and number of the selected calibration.
