Lightning rod for electric fence
Description:
Protects the electrifier (electric fence) as a result of lightning striking the electric fence
To protect against lightning strikes, the fence cable must be passed through a surge protection device (lightning rod), which is attached to a non-flammable material on the outer wall of the building before connecting to the electric fence unit.
The lightning rod is necessary to prevent the generator from failing when a lightning strike hits the electric fence and will preserve the generator warranty. It is mounted between the fence and the electrifier. When an electric discharge strikes the fence, the electric charge does not reach the electrifier (pulse generator), but is discharged through the lightning rod to the ground.
